At just 20 years old, Damien and Alexis opened "Vista Football Shop" on Saturday, September 20, at 18 rue de l'Argenterie, in Montpellier. Their store offers more than 700 vintage jerseys on display. A first of its kind in the city, capitalizing on the trend of football jerseys as fashion statements.
From passion to business. Damien and Alexis, two avid MHSC supporters, decided to team up a few months ago to open their own shop at just 20 years old. Open since this Saturday, September 20, Vista football shop offers over 700 vintage jerseys in the store and over 2,600 with the backroom stock. The day before, some curious people already wanted to come in even before the official opening. Located on rue de l'Argenterie, they benefit from dream visibility with prestigious neighbors like People’s Rag and Gertrude. "Compared to our budget, we couldn't really do better," they chuckle.
It all started with their passion for football. Over the years, their jersey collection began to grow. "We started the business five years ago. By collecting, you sell, you buy back, you resell. You get new offers and you are in contact with other collectors. We hunt a lot on Leboncoin, Vinted or other second-hand sites," explains Alexis.
The shop aims to be premium with quality jerseys, some of which were worn during official matches. This is naturally reflected in the prices, which can go up to over 300 euros. The two friends are still confident. "There are plenty of places where it works, Paris, Brussels... In Montpellier, it didn't exist yet, there's a niche to fill," hopes Damien. "Sport brings people together. There are plenty of people who will come in just to look at the jerseys," adds Alexis.
